a connective combat sport
The objective was to design a weapon-based combat sport that can be enjoyed at a competitive level or just for fun. I took advantages of the nuances of real-world swordplay to create a competitive experience.
I interviewed LARPers and competitive fighting game players to understand aspects of their respective hobbies that could be incorporated into my game. I also considered using this game to interest and revenue to historic medieval locations.
A variety of padded weapons register hits on a vest that visually indicates team color and a health value.
An optional app allows the user to customize their game with unique game modes and player abilities.
